Configuration of the website includes
- Changing settings that control how new users obtain accounts on the website. You may require that prospective users receive an email invitation to sign up or you can allow new users to join on-line without an invitation.
- Changing settings that control what actions each user may perform. Actions that may be authorized include posting articles, creating and changing forms, creating and changing calendar events, uploading files to the site, providing language translations, and configuring the site.
- Adding new sections to the site and removing existing sections. (Website sections are pages that contain additional pages or sections. They are generally used to categorize the website content so visitors can find what they are looking for more easily.)
- Installing banner images, setting the placement of the banner text and image sizes and placement.
- Selecting a pre-defined color scheme or changing an existing scheme to create a custom color scheme for the site.
- Installing pre-defined website pages such as the Calendar page, the Discussion page, and the File Sharing page.
- Deciding which sections of the site should only be shown to logged-in users.
